| Hello everyone, It increases my frustration because I can not run the 2.5.0 nor with Linux nor with Windows 7 .... The 2.8 was defined by 187, is the land of noob With 2.5 installed on ubuntu I have no audio. With the windows version installed on Windows 7 can not update the PB. I searched for solutions in the forum, I found nothing. Does anyone have any idea? Bye! | |

| This is the first solution I tried but it does not work the same with 2.5.0 on Win7.
I fixed by installing Windows XP on a HDD. My absence from the game now is not due to punkbuster, but my life problems.
Thanks anyway. | |

Hi, I know this is a very old topic, but I think this information can be helpful in the future: the sound issue on Ubuntu (10.10 and newer) can be solved easily. The solution is to edit /us/local/bin/armyops file (with root privileges) and write padsp before /usr/local...: - Code:
-
#!/bin/bash padsp /usr/local/games/armyops/armyops
As newer Ubuntu versions use only PulseAudio sound server, older programs can't find /dev/dsp, which is basically the sound device. The padsp wrapper provides it for them. Of course the PB in the installer is very outdated on Linux too, so manual update of PB is still necessary. Cheers pcq | |
